You may have heard a lot of people mentioning Seaport recently, and for good reason.  This Boston neighborhood has grown from parking lots to beautiful places to live and work over the last decade.  The whole neighborhood is just steps away from downtown Boston and South Station.  When it’s too cold to walk, the Silver Line is there – and can get you to Logan International Airport in a jiffy.

Notable Landmarks in Seaport

A few notable places like Legal Sea Foods and Harpoon Brewery have been here long enough to watch the neighborhood grow from the ground up.  With this growth has come a ton of amazing restaurants and bars.  Ocean Prime, Del Friscos, Temazcal Tequila Cantina, Morton’s Steakhouse, Row 34, and Lolita’s just to name a few.  There are also restaurants like Hopsters Brewing Company that allow you to brew your own beer and they will bottle it for you!

Things To Do in Seaport District

If you’re looking for more to do than just eat a drink, there are lots of other things available to you in the Seaport neighborhood.  The Boston Children’s Museum and The Boston Fire Museum are great places to take kids.

For those bowling enthusiasts, Kings just opened a 20,000 sq-ft venue that includes bowling, billiards, shuffleboard, foosball and air hockey.  For those who wish to relax and watch a movie, the ICON Theater is right next door.  If you’re more of an outdoor person, the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion is right down the road.  If you love being outside and refuse to let the cold weather stop you, the Envoy Hotel hosts heated igloos on their roof deck.

 Affordable Living in Seaport District

The Seaport neighborhood doesn’t always have to come with a hefty price tag.  The Institute of Contemporary Art (The ICA) has amazing exhibits and open their doors for free to the public every Thursday.  The ICA also hosts the Redbull Cliff Diving competition where the athletes dive into the Boston Harbor from 90 feet in the air.  During the summer, community yoga and exercises classes happen throughout the week in the public park.  In the end, there is nothing quite like a stroll along the Harbor Walk with the stunning views of the harbor and downtown Boston.
