Living In Massachusetts | What $700K Gets In Lynn

$700k in Lynn

In this video we are going to be talking about and taking a look at homes in Lynn and see what a budget of approximately $700,000 would get you.

Real quick, Lynn is on the North Shore of Boston.  It’s the eighth largest city in Massachusetts and is 3.7 miles North of Boston. Click here to search all Lynn Homes For Sale

As I mentioned, we are looking at three houses in Lynn… I would love to hear in the comments section below which house you would choose. Consider it your HGTV moment. You have to choose from one of the three!

The first place we are headed to is 21 Bradford Street which is on the Lynnfield and Peabody line. This house is just minutes from 95 or route 1 making commuting a little easier! This is a 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath Colonial that is 2,151 square feet and nestled on a 1/3 of an acre.

This house home has a lot of updates with new windows in 2019 and a large composite deck that overlooks the spacious fenced in yard. As we walk in, you will be welcomed by a large foyer that sports hardwood floors that lead into a large Living Room with fireplace and picture window. The downstairs also sports an office, Dining Room and Kitchen with white cabinets, stainless steel appliances. An amazing and under appreciated perk is the first-floor laundry right off the Kitchen. I love first floor laundry as we spend the most time on the first floor so you get more done, PLUS you can run it while you sleep and not have to worry about hearing laundry banging away in the hall closet. 1st floor laundry off the Kitchen… Huge win!

Upstairs you will find 4 large bedrooms and two full baths with refinished hardwood floors. The entire house has been freshly painted plus there is the 2 car garage which is giving me garage envy…

It’s priced at $689,900 with a price to square foot of $321 a foot.

Now let’s take a look and drive through the neighborhood to give you a sense of the community. As you can see, it’s a nice community of Single-Family houses with basically a tree lined street.

By the way, I really appreciate you slamming that like button. Really helps me with the YouTube Gods!

The second home is located at 170-A Jenness Street. It is a 3 bedroom, 2 full bath home that spans 1,602 square feet. What makes this home special is that it is waterfront on Sluice Pond with 60 feet of water frontage that gives you access to boating swimming, fishing and ice skating.

The Kitchen was recently redone with Granite counters and stainless-steel appliances. The home sports hardwood floors and has other improvements like a new electrical panel, roof, windows and siding. The current asking price for this home is $649,900 with an asking price per square foot of $406. It makes sense that this house would be at a premium due to the location being a waterfront property.

Let’s do a quick drive around the neighborhood. Jenness Street is a 2-lane street that is a little more busy. It wraps around Sluice Pond. You have mostly Single-Family houses, but you may find the occasional multi-family property.

And as a heads up, I have a link in the description if you would like to take a look at all Lynn Homes For Sale. I also have another link for the Lynn homes that are in the $600,000 or higher price range.

So the last house is located at 43 W Sigourney Street. This is a 4-bedroom, 2 full bath that is 1,941 square feet and is located in Lynn by the Saugus line with close proximity to the Lynn Woods Reservation. The house is situated on .14 acres and is nestled on a great neighborhood street with an asking price of $699,900.

This asking price means that the asking price per square foot is $361 a foot. Charming house from the outside with vinyl siding and a cute front porch and 1 car garage. Inside you will find a house that will most likely have the next owner do some improvements to. It’s an older Kitchen, but look to be very quality cabinets that I would bet would look awesome painted white. Throw some new hardwood on there and put in some stainless-steel appliances and that thing will look new.

Some new carpet, paint, maybe some new hardwood floors and the place would look great. The vaulted ceiling in the Master Bedroom is awesome.

Like the other two, let’s do a neighborhood drive to give you a sense of the area. You are going to see pretty much all single-family homes in the neighborhood.

Take the smaller home that is on a lake out of the picture and look at Sigourney and Bradford and you really get a sense of the size house that is afforded to you with a budget in the $700,000 range. That’s what Lynn gets you… A lot more house for your money then compared to other neighboring towns.

The areas that these homes are located in are areas that demand a higher premium then the section of the city as you get closer to the water.
